Dermal fillers are generally used as a means of diminishing lines and wrinkles by adding volume to select areas of the face. Even though they have a common purpose, fillers widely vary in composition and specialty, meaning there are a significant number of options available to patients. There are so many options that it can be difficult to keep track of them all. That’s why we’re taking a few minutes to review the new dermal filler options at Minneapolis Anti Aging and Skin Clinic.
Dermal Filler Options
We’re always introducing the latest and best injectable options at Minneapolis Anti-Aging and Skin Clinic because we want our patients to have access to the best possible treatment options.
Lately, those options have been multiplying. Restylane was the first hyaluronic acid based filler on the market, introduced in 2006. Since then, new brands have been building niches for themselves. In the past couple of years, Minneapolis Anti-Aging and Skin Clinic has introduced several new filler options for our patients.
Juvederm Volbella
Juvederm is one of the most recognizable dermal filler brand names on the market today. That means any new Juvederm product often already carries with it a certain amount of prestige. Juvederm Volbella is a new dermal filler offered by Minneapolis Anti-Aging and Skin Clinic intended to address specific areas of the face.
Volbella is a hyaluronic acid based filler, just as standard Juvederm, but its particular size is significantly smaller. Because the particles are smaller, the results that the injections achieve can be much finer.
As such, Juvederm Volbella is generally used to treat lines and wrinkle around the lips. That’s because those lines and wrinkles tend to be small and your lips tend to be thin. Larger particle sizes could lead to lips that look a little lumpy after an injection. Juvederm Volbella ensures this won’t happen because the particles injected are so fine.
To learn more about Juvederm Volbella, and what it can do to make your lips look smoother and younger, check out our Juvederm Volbella page or contact us to schedule a consultation.
Juvederm Volbella at a Glance:
- Hyaluronic acid-based filler that features a very small particle size
- Excellent for lines in and around the lips
- Results will typically last for about 12 months
Juvederm Vollure XC
While its name might be somewhat similar to Volbella, Juvederm Vollure XC is another novel filler offered by Minneapolis Anit-Aging and Skin Clinic. What makes Vollure XC so unique is not its particular size, but how those particles interact with each other. Using a technology known as Vycross, the hyaluronic acid-based particles in Vollure XC are able to form a kind of lattice. This is accomplished by a process called “crosslinking.”
The benefits of crosslinking with this filler are fairly substantial; Juvederm Vollure XC is particularly good at targeting wrinkles around the mouth and nose. Patients who are bothered by or uncomfortable with deep lines around the mouth, often called smile lines or nasolabial folds, are excellent candidates for Juvederm Vollure XC.
The secondary benefit of Vollure XC is that the results tend to be quite robust. Injections for nasolabial folds, for example, can generally last somewhere around 18 months. That means patients will often enjoy smoother, younger looking skin for a year and a half–longer if they elect to undergo maintenance injections to keep those lines and wrinkles in check.

PRP Injections
Platelet Rich Plasma is not a dermal filler. We’re including it on this list because it’s a treatment recently offered by Minneapolis Anti-Aging and Skin Clinic, and it offers several benefits to our patients. PRP can be used in two ways at Minneapolis Skin Clinic:
- Hair Regrowth Therapy: Minneapolis Anti-Aging and Skin Clinic offers PRP injections to help mitigate hair loss. Once injected around the scalp, the Platelet Rich Plasma helps energize some of the hair root structures. Patients commonly start regrowing a significant amount of hair after treatments are complete.
- PRP Facials: Platelet Rich Plasma injections are used to amplify the results from Microneedling or Skinpen treatments. When you combine PRP with Skinpen in a so-called PRP Facial, you will often notice smoother, more radiant looking skin than with Skinpen alone.
Platelet Rich Plasma is created right from the patient’s own body. A small sample of blood is drawn from the patient. A centrifuge is used to separate the plasma from the blood. The plasma contains the PRP that is injected into the patient, spurring the creation of collagen and amplifying the body’s rejuvenation properties.

Find Out Which Dermal Filler is Best For You
There are always going to be new filler and injectable options. Not every new injectable will be a dermal filler (neither PRP injections and Kybella are dermal fillers, but both are quite popular).
To find out which injectable is going to be your best option, schedule a consultation with one of our highly trained medical professionals. We’ll be able to determine which injectable–whether Botox or dermal filler or Kybella–will be able to help you achieve your best possible transformation.
