Now Offering Two New PRP Options
At Minneapolis Anti-Aging and Skin Clinic, we currently offer PRP injections for two primary purposes: facials and hair growth. PRP Facials are typically deployed in conjunction with other cosmetic procedures, such as SkinPen treatments. On the other hand, PRP is used as a standalone treatment in men and women suffering from hairloss.

What is PRP and How Does it Work?
Whether you’re interested in PRP injections for hair regrowth or in a PRP facial, you might first want to know what PRP actually is and how it works. Essentially, PRP is a compound found in your own body that can be used cosmetically for restoration and rejuvenation purposes. To collect the PRP used in your treatment, a small amount of blood must be drawn.
The staff at Minneapolis Anti-Aging and Skin Clinic will then use a special centrifuge to separate your blood cells from the PRP cells. The donor PRP cells collected via this centrifuge are then used in your treatment. When used in conjunction with Microneedling (Skinpen), the PRP is applied topically, directly into the micro channels created by the Skinpen device. Is PRP the Same as a Vampire Facial?

Technically, there’s no difference between a Vampire Facelift and a PRP Facial. They are the same procedure. The Vampire Facial moniker was simply a successful way to differentiate PRP injections and generate marketing buzz.
Photos seen on TV or online often depict a bloody or gory image of treatment. In fact, platelet-rich-plasma is not bloody at all. PRP is a light yellow liquid that we call “liquid gold.” The bloody portion of a treatment would come from the needle pokes, not the PRP itself.
